Rapoo H6080 Bluetooth Headset Review

We recently had the chance to review Rapoo’s H6080 Bluetooth headset. In case you don’t know, Rapoo is one of the leading peripherals brand names in mainland China and they’re set to make waves in the country as well.

Rapoo H6080 1

The Rapoo H6080 wireless headset touts voice activated answering for calls, just say “yes” or “no” to answer or reject incoming calls as you listen to your music.

Rapoo H6080 2

This headset feels really light on the hand, and you can easily fold and stow it into the carrying case that comes with the unit. It also includes a micro USB cable for charging your headset. Power-up, setting it to connect to a device, answering and rejecting calls, volume, play and pausing audio are all accessed via a single button on the left earcup.

Setting it up to connect to your phone is easy enough. Press the button long enough until you see the green light blinking fast and pair it via your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Slide the button left and right to control volume, push once to play or pause while playing music. With calls, you either push the button to answer or end it or you can use voice commands (“yes” or “no”) to answer or reject calls.

Rapoo H6080 4

The voice quality is good enough with this headset, but with regards to music playback I find the sound a little soft and it becomes muddy at higher volumes. I don’t like the fact that this has no controls for previous and next tracks, so you’ll always have to put your phone out just to skip music. While I love the fact that the headset is light to wear, I also feel that I have to be a little careful handling it, as the headset is mostly made of plastic.

Rapoo H6080 5

That being said, if you’re looking for an affordable bluetooth headset that you can also use to listen to music, you can give this one a try, but if you want something that offers better controls for your music AND also serve as a headset, you might want to look elsewhere.

The Rapoo H6080 is available in three colors: blue, gray and yellow and retails for Php2,775.

Is the build study? Does it look like it will easily break on the joints?

    • it’s light because it’s plastic but the joints are flexible.

hindi ba parang mahal sya for its size? or maybe its the voice command ang nagpapamahal?

    • It’s reasonable for the price, but it’s more of a headset than a music accessory; there’s no way to skip tracks with it.

Where can i purchase this headset?

  • The ones with clear display are usually not scratch proof and those with darker displays are scratch resistant. In the case of the carrying pouch, it does not follow the one size fit all category.

What foldable headset can you recommend then? That is not expensive, with the price maybe same as this.

  • Albert Go Alcantara

i bought one just this April 2013. After 3 months, the switch that turns ON/OFF is not working from time to time intermittent. I wrote a complaint letter to the company distributing the said headset but i did not get any reply. I sent the mail twice one after another day just to be sure they get. No response either they don’t care or they don’t want to replace my unit. In short Deadma! Worse after a month which was late August the plastic of the joints cracked. I went to their website and wrote directly to mother company complaining about the poor quality of the plastic of their headset. I am still waiting for their reply. My suggestion is to avoid this product. It is very tempting because it is cheap but seeing as it is. I don’t recommend it anymore even if technical wise it is bluetooth 4.0. Better buy a good brand which is durable but expensive but in the long run it will come out cheaper.

I’ve been using this headphone since June and its been great so far… No faulty joints and stuff. You guys are right though its plasticky and all but nothing good handling will take care. Even with the most excellently built ones if you’re not careful it will break. So yes I will recommend this product. Really I can’t complain…

compatible din ba ito sa android phones like, sony xperia L?

  • Zak Yuson

I've had the same experience as Albert Alcantara. My headset still charges but I can't even turn it on. They should've just used a simple button. Never buying this brand again.
