Huawei MediaPad M5 Might Launch at CES 2018
At CES 2018, Huawei might reveal the Huawei MediaPad M5, a premium Android tablet to outspec the MediaPad M3. While tablets haven’t received much attention among consumers lately, the MediaPad M5 raises hopes of reigniting the enthusiasm.
Naming scheme, pricing, and availability
As China often associates the number 4 with bad luck, it’s likely for Huawei to skip the number entirely. Of course, this completely skips over the device iteration numbered 3. Reports claim the tablets coursing through Huawei’s qualification labs in December. To support this, a Bluetooth filing also links the model numbers SHT-W09 and SHT-AL09 with the Mediapad M5.
Launched at IFA 2016, the MediaPad M3 only heightens the possibility of Huawei launching the M5 at another major technology show. CES 2018, of course, welcomes brand-new, innovative consumer electronics. The new tabled may match up or exceed the MediaPad M3 price, which came at 350 euro (around Php 20,850) upon release.
Huawei MediaPad Specs
Labeled a smartphone during the Bluetooth qualification prcoess, the rumored MediaPad M5 allegedly sports an 8.4-inch display. Like its predecessor, it also comes with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution.
The Bluetooth certification apparently indicates the tablet running on a Kirin 960 processor. This brings down the possibility of a Kirin 970 chip Neural Processing Unit (NPU) coming with the phone. RAM, memory, cameras, battery size, and network specifics have yet to be seen.
A data log spotted on a website testing the SHT-AL09 version also reveals the device possibly running on Android 8.0 Oreo. With this, it’s very likely for the device to come with EMUI 8.0, which came with the Mate 10, or EMUI 5.1.
