Samsung Galaxy S III FREE on Smart’s Unli Data Plan 2000

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has been available for pre-order from both Globe and Smart since last Monday, May 23. We covered Globe’s pricing plan and we’re still waiting for Smart to reveal their pricing for the Samsung Galaxy S3 which was not yet displayed on their pre-order page (or so I thought).

I don’t know if we missed this piece of info before but looking at Smart’s pre-order page for  the Samsung Galaxy S3, it says you can get the phone for FREE on Smart’s Unlimited Data Plan 2000. That’s all the option you’re presented and this means Smart has the best deal for the Galaxy S3 if you want a plan to go with it. Globe is offering it for free starting on their Plan 2499.

We’re not sure if this is a mistake (still waiting confirmation from Smart), or a special introductory promo for those who pre-order, but this makes the Samsung Galaxy S3 cheaper than the iPhone 4S which is available for FREE on Plan 3000. If you’re wondering what other phones are free on Smart Plan 2000, you have the Galaxy Note, iPhone 4, Galaxy Nexus and the HTC Sensation XE to name a few. With Smart’s Unlimited Data Plan 2000, you will get 200 free text and 150 minutes worth of free calls per month on top of the unlimited data.

If this is indeed the real deal then it makes the Samsung Galaxy S III really appealing if you go with Smart.

UPDATE: Ok, got confirmatoin that the FREE on Plan 2000 is for real with a lock-in period of 30 months instead of the usual 24.

wow panalo yan ah. samantalang dati htc sensation ang free sa plan 2000 niyo ngayon s3 na. wowow.

  • Paulito

    free at 2000 a month for 30 months = 60k
    if it was 24 months 60k-12k = 48k

    rival Globe

    cashout of 4800 at 1799 for 24 months = 48k

Arent they just the same but with Smart you get locked in for 6 months longer? LMAO

don’t compute the value of a phone on these plans simply by totaling your monthly payment. pag ganyan ede sana nagprepaid ka na lang.

IMHO Globe offer is much better. For 2500php, you get 1800 worth of load and unli data. SMART 2000php unli data plan only have 200free text and 150mins call.

    • actually it depends really on how a person uses his plan. if 2000 is enough for a person then smart’s plan is better. if he needs the consumable from Globe then plus P500 is not a bad idea.

      • jerald

        Good point sir Calvin. #salute

      • Jeraldo

So the plan 2000 of Smart doesnt have any consumable? just 200 free texts and 150 mins call?

  • len

I don’ t know if globe’s lock in period is the usual 24 months but if it is, then both plans are just the same. PHP 2,500 x 24 mos. = PHP 60,000 against smart of PHP 2,000 x 30 mos. = PHP60,000. It is just a matter of convinenience – pay longer but at lower monthly amortization or pay the soonest at higher monthly amortization.
