The Sega Forever collection allows users to enjoy classic Sega titles in a new free-to-play format. It also supports modern features like cloud saving. Currently, the collection has five titles: Sonic the Hedgehog, Altered Beast, Phantasy Star 2, Comix Zone, and Kid Chameleon. Each title will be available on Google Play Store and App Store for iOS upon launch. They also plan to launch more titles every two weeks. Not only that but the collection is set to cover multiple console generations. It is also set to include official emulations and ported games.
This is a welcomed change as actual consoles do have a shelf life and this format allows for more flexible access to the games. Also, you can enjoy these apps ad free for a price that won’t hurt your wallet at $1.99. This is much cheaper than tracking down classic consoles.
