Smart’s new logo, what does it mean?

Many of you may have already know that Smart has a new logo which they unveiled during the Black Eyed Peas Manila Concert last October 25. It looks more… uhh cute and fun now compared to the serious logo of before. Did you know this is the fourth version of Smart’s logo?

width="457"So what does it all mean? What does the 8 dots signify? And why did they choose those colors? Were they having Dippin’ Dots ice cream when they came up with this logo?

Well according to Smart, the rendering gives them a more youthful image and the vibrant colors also reflect the freedom and empowerment that Smart’s broader range of products and services make possible. The dots signifies flexibility and dynamism meaning Smart can rearrange them any way they want to represent anything. We can see a version for each product or service, or even a different rendering to celebrate a certain event.

“œOur new look is an exciting metaphor of our business. From providing traditional telco services, Smart is evolving into a webtelco–offering Filipinos integrated access to call, text, mobile internet, wireless broadband, social networking and mobile commerce services,” said Orlando B. Vea, Chief Wireless Advisor.
