Unlike Samsung and LG who have respectively unveiled its new flagship devices, Sony’s latest announcement brings forth three new mid-range smartphones under the new Xperia X lineup, namely the Sony Xperia X, Sony Xperia XA, and Sony Xperia X Performance.
Despite being a tier lower than Sony’s prized Xperia Z portfolio, the new Xperia X-series are no pushover in terms of design and features.
By merely looking at the press renders above, one could already see the semblance that the Xperia X smartphones have with its other cousins. It’s simple yet sophisticated unibody form factor is truly an eye candy which is further complemented by a metal finish at the back and a sleek curved display at the front (for the Xperia XA at least).
Although the whole presentation was rather short, Sony was keen to point out some of the key features of the Xperia X lineup. These comprises of a 5-inch Full-HD display (curved for the Xperia X), Snapdragon 650 processor (Snapdragon 820 for the Xperia X Performance), Predictive Hybrid Autofocus that anticipates the movement of a the subject to counteract motion blur, and Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology which is aimed at reducing the time it takes to fully charge these new handsets.
