Sony Xperia S to be available mid-April for Php27,990

We got word from Sony Mobile Philippines that the official availability of their first NXT or next-generation Android phone, the Sony Xperia S, will be after Holy Week and will come with an SRP of Ph27,990.

Sony Xperia S

The Sony Xperia S is a 1.5GHz dual-core Android 2.3 smartphone with a 4.3-inch display that has the highest pixel density among mobile devices. It also has a fast 12-megapixel camera thanks to its f/2.4 sensor with mobile Exmor R technology.

The official Sony Xperia S is bundled with 2 Smart Tags (NFC tokens), a screen protector, a fast charger that can give you an hour’s worth of talk time in just 10 minutes of charging, and an HDMI cable. If you don’t know what the Smart Tags are for, they’re just tokens that tells your phone to do something when it comes into close proximity with it. For example, you can use a token to tell your phone to switch to Office profile when it comes near it, then you leave this Smart Tag token in your desk.

It also comes with a 1-year warranty from Sony Philippines that’s not available to those grey market units.

Been using the Xperia S for a couple of days and the overall performance has been great. Love the ultrasharp display and the 12 megapixel camera. Speed performance is decent and the UI looks really sweet especially the new Timescape widgets.

Here’s a video walkthrough of the Sony Xperia S I took if you’re interested. Make sure you choose 720p.

Will post a review soon.

  • What i find quite puzzling is that even though ICS was already released. We still see newly launched android phones with Gingerbread installed.

    • recently released lang ang ICS and these phones are already in the making even before. with a heavily modded UI, it will take more time to redesign it for a new OS.

      • Makes sense. Well i hope they start churning out ICS installed phones soon. It seems that some phones never see the ICS light after getting released with Gingerbread.

        Xperia S, then P, last ung U

  • Ang mahal sobra. Ka-presyo na ng laptop. Hindi para sa mga pulube na tulad ko 🙁

  • amao

Eh , sir any news about Sony xperia sola?

    • bago lang inannounce ang sola so malamang after the Xperia P pa ito. that would be 2nd half of the year na.

Ampanget nmn… sana isinunod n lng s design ng dating xperia 🙁

    • dTech

Tama mas okay if nasunod na lang sa previous ever gorgeous na Arc S. Pero dahilan din cguro ung specs/parts kaya hnd ma-accommodate sa dating body. But surely great if nagstay sa sleek design ng Arc S.

me likey… can’t wait for the review… and sample photos too please.

  • Lets see when samsung is going to launch samsung galaxy s3

    • dTech

Hehe, surely it’ll be great/better, kc yung xperia s e pangtapat lang nman sa galaxy sII. So definitely better if we’d wait until xperia will come out with a quad core power like S3.

    Nice screen, nice camera

No microSD expansion, battery non replaceable

Nice phone indeed but for that price…better wait for the SIII

    • aze

      up to 32GB microSD

      • sorry he’s correct. the final specs is now 32GB non removable storage. sorry bout that.

  • no expansion slot and non replaceable battery? really?

  • Anonymous

question lang bat yung model na to p ede32 Gb SD Card pero ung model sa ibang sites 32 Gb na internal tas walang SD Slot

    • yup sorry about that… i used the specs that were outed during the pre-launch.

it’s 32GB non removable storage. looking at elixir… 2GB is dedicated to the phone while 25GB is dedicated for the user. dunno what happened to the remaining 5GB. 🙂

      • Hindi talaga yan saktong 32GB. Parang sa iPhone lang, nasa ~28GB lang ang available sa user. 😀

Kung Xenon flash lang sana ‘to eh pwede na. -__-
