Battery Life and Charging Time
Inside this slab of plastic and glass lies a 3,000mAh power pack that supplies power to the rest of the Engage 7i’s components. As some of you may already guessed, this capacity will not be enough to keep the tablet running for too long, especially when running resource-heavy tasks.
In our standard battery video loop test, it only took 3 hours and 26 minutes before the tablet died out on us and asked for it to be hooked up to its charger.
The Engage 7i also didn’t fare very well when we ran PCMark Work Battery Life test on it. It only managed to give as a mileage of 4 hours and 39 minutes from full charge state.
With everything taken in to consideration, the Starmobile Engage 7i is one of the better Android tablets in the sub-Php4k price category. It’s got the right set of features to handle your basic needs and it has call and SMS functionalities, not to mention support for 3G connectivity, which makes it a decent secondary mobile device if the situation calls for it.
What we liked about it:
* Decent design and acceptable build quality
* Respectable viewing angle
* Good software implementation
* Comes with a free Php2,400 worth of free data for 6 months
What we didn’t like about it:
* Battery life could be better
* Weak sound output from loudspeaker
* Somewhat laggy performance
The Starmobile Engage 7i can be purchased at any Starmobile concept stores, booths, and kiosks nationwide for Php3,990. It’s available in black and white variants and will come with a free Smart Bro SIM card and Php2,400 worth of free data for 6 months.
