If you are dreaming of owning an Apple Watch but quite tight on the budget, here’s a special surprise. Apple rolled out the Watch SE, a budget version of its popular smartwatch line. The Apple Watch SE brings all the essential features of the Watch Series into a modern design and at an affordable price. This relatively wallet-friendly wearable arrives with the largest Watch display, fall detection, advanced fitness features, and watchOS 7.

Apple Watch SE

The all-new Watch SE boasts the largest and most advanced Retina display to date. The screen has thin borders and curved corners, which make it more stunning. The interface allows for large and easy-to-read app icons and fonts; complications are precise and informative. Users can also enjoy a variety of new watch faces optimized for the display.

Under the hood of the Apple Watch SE, the S5 System in Package (SiP) and dual-core processor ensures fast performance. It comes with accelerometer, gyroscope, and always-on altimeter as Apple Watch Series 6. Additionally, it has health safety capabilities powered by motion sensors and microphone. These functions include fall detection, Emergency SOS, international emergency calling, and the Noise app.

The Digital Crown has haptic feedback and generates incrmental clicks. It also gives the watch a mechanical feel when rotated. For connectivity, this wearable device uses Bluetooth 5.0. Meanwhile, the next-generation always-on altimeter provides real-time elevation all day long. It uses a new and more power-efficient barometric altimeter, along with GPS and nearby Wi-Fi networks.

This budget Apple Watch also gets the watchOS 7. The tailored smartphone operating system offers features such as Family Setup, which allows kids or older family members without an iPhone to enjoy the device. It also has sleep tracking, automatic handwashing detection, and new workouts. There’s also the Emergency SOS, which users can use to quickly and easily call for help and alert emergency services.

Pricing and availability

The Apple Watch SE arrives in three beautiful case finishes made of 100% recycled aluminum. It is compatible with all Apple Watch bands, including the new Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop.

The price for the all-new Apple Watch SE starts at P15,990. To know more about this new smartwatch and get updates on its availability, visit Apple Philippines’ website.
