Incoming Huawei Honor poised to give you three days of battery life

The smartphone scene is becoming stagnant when it comes to innovations nowadays. Not counting Nokia’s 41-megapixel baby, things like quad-core processors, Super-duper AMOLED Plus Plus, thin-and-light form doesn’t excite us anymore. So what can a company do to make a name in the crowded smartphone market? Make the users not dependent on the power charger like a drug addict on coke.

width="487"Huawei wants to focus on something essential for their soon-to-arrive Honor Android smartphone that most companies are missing, and that is battery life. Battery on most smartphones in the market plays around the 1500 mAh range but the Huawei Honor will be packing a 1900 mAh battery  that the company claims can net you 3-days before reaching for that charger. The only other phone in its class that can top its battery capacity is the dual-core Motorola ATRIX (1930 mAh). Even if you get 2 days out of it in normal usage then it’s already a good run.

The Huawei Honor doesn’t want to be flashy with its basic (even boring) design. It doesn’t want to woo you with specs by only packing a 1.4GHz processor with Adreno 205 GPU which is the same as that of the Sony Xperia Arc S. It only has 4GB worth of internal storage (with expandable storage via microSD) and 512MB RAM. It does have an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front one. Still, it’s clearly positioned as a mid-range device.

You won’t get the best display, nor the fastest processor but it won’t leave you looking for a power outlet way before the day or the next day ends. If Yugatech’s speculation of an under P15k price tag on this one is true, then the Huawei Honor might be the Android phone of choice for a lot of people that are always on the go.

Kinda funny how battery life is so horrible on a lot of smartphones
that good battery life is actually touted as a “feature” these days.

    • yeah… before going 5 days without charging is a norm. now it’s a rarity. long battery life is now a selling point.

  • pinoy persuasion

Battery versus speed, that’s the issue here.

  • I agree. But on the positive note, good thing this Huawei device only packs a single-core processor. Unfortunately, its specs do not fit its possible price (15k). Just pretty too much, IMHO.

  • Hi I love your writing. extremely cool
