While 40Hz is undoubtedly an improvement over the plethora of 144Hz monitors, it won’t be a huge leap in smoothness like the jump from 60Hz to 144Hz was, given that game engines don’t support it yet (That should mean you’ll get a few years out of this as the best gaming monitor you can buy) With a refresh rate that fast, the XG2530 should be able to get rid of screen tearing entirely when FreeSync is enabled, making it a great monitor for any serious gamer.
In a market full of 144Hz monitors, 240Hz is definitely an improvement. Also, the super fast refresh rate takes care of screen tearing issues when FreeSync is enabled. These features make the XG3520 a really good gaming monitor, even better than most. However, that is a key factor. This is a gaming monitor, and it was built to maximize a players gaming experience. Also, note that this device is not the best for watching movies and all that. Still, this is now available on Amazon for $499 or roughly Php25,000.
